Guido Zerbi
Director, Patents, Regional Head, Patents Europe
Guido Zerbi is a Director of Patents for Murgitroyd. He heads up the Milan office and oversees our Geneva office. After spending 17 years as an in-house attorney, Guido understands how to handle all aspects of intellectual property law (patents, trade marks, designs, copyright) and confidentiality and secrecy matters.
He has a reputation for working in close contact with lab directors and developers, to build a patent portfolio and maximise the patent protection of inventions created in the product development process. Guido’s expertise extends to advising clients on several IP-related matters, such as due diligence (for acquisitions and divestitures), settlement or negotiation of disputes and IP portfolio acquisitions.
Guido opened the Milan office in 2007 and continues to manage and organize the drafting, filing and prosecuting of Italian, EUTM, European, International and British patent and trade mark applications. He also discusses and evaluates inventions with inventors and technical experts, and helps lawyers with IP litigation and court proceedings.
Guido’s main technical field is Computer Implemented Inventions (CII). He is a member of the Confindustria IP working group and gives speeches and lectures at conferences, seminars or university courses. He was also a CEIPI tutor, helping candidates to prepare for the Italian and European qualification exams from 2001 to 2010.
