Paul Lynch joined Murgitroyd in December 2022 as part of the acquisition of Turnbull Lynch Intellectual Property by Murgitroyd. Paul was a Director at TLIP, where his practice focused on patent drafting, patent prosecution, and advising on registered designs. Paul specialises in electronic and mechanical related matters, including computer systems, telecommunications, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and inkjet printing.
Paul has a B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University (DCU), and an MSc. in Microsystems and Nanotechnology from Cranfield University, where he explored the feasibility of fabricating printer nozzles using different lasers.
Paul enjoys working closely with inventors to tease out the different aspects of their invention, and has been fortunate enough to have been involved with commercially important cases, covering many products that have come to market through the years. Paul particularly specialises in patent prosecution, opposition and appeals, litigation, due diligence, freedom to operate, contracts and licensing, agreements, patent box, Unified Patent Court, trademark prosecution, registered designs and IP strategy.
Paul also holds a Patent Attorney Litigation Certificate and has advised clients in various actions before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC), working with specialist counsel to reach favourable settlements before trial on all occasions.
Paul is based in our Dublin City Office.
