Emanuela Villa

Emanuela is based at our Milan office. Her practice deals with all aspects of IP law, including patents, trade marks, design rights (registered and unregistered).

Emanuela joined Murgitroyd in 2007. Until 2016 she worked in the Trade Mark Group assisting the Trade Mark Attorney and improving her knowledge, acquiring experience in trade mark strategies, protection and disputes, clearance searching, trade mark filing and prosecution, and Italian and CTM oppositions. In 2016 she joined Patents department and since then has acquired experience in liaising with clients and foreign associates worldwide, as well as communicating directly with patents and design offices worldwide.

In the last years she is experienced in all aspects of paralegal responsibilities – preparing and filing formalities documents, reporting and monitoring deadlines, producing IP schedules including cost forecasts. Emanuela is also experienced in handling recordals of transfers internationally.

Activities include independently handling all communications with Indian Associates for anything related to Form 3 requirements. Emanuela’s experience extends to supporting the preparation and filing of design applications.

Emanuela was also made External Training Coordinator in July 2022. She is responsible for investigating and notifying paralegals of upcoming external webinars and courses, reminding and ensuring CIPA CPD requirements are met and correctly logged by paralegals annually and collating lists of requested attendees for paid webinars, conferences and courses and liaising with Head of Paralegals and Support for fee approval.
