
Ian Roustan
Senior IP Engineer
Ian Roustan is a member of our Chemistry and Biotechnology Patent Search Team.
Ian joined the firm in 2016 as an Intellectual Property (IP) Engineer. He earned his BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of Mobile, United States and MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Germany, receiving the DAAD fellowship. His thesis focused on Epigenetics and Developmental Biology.
During his time in research, he worked as a research assistant in the Molecular Biology Centre at Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) developing a bioprospection project in endonucleases. He also worked for New England Biolabs, Inc as a visiting research scholar. He was an Adjunct Professor of Biochemistry at Ave Maria University, Keiser University, and UCA. Ian has attended and spoken at many biotechnology conferences and workshops in the country, his primary objective is the advancement of science, technology, and scientific education in Nicaragua. He has authored a number of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Ian is based in our Managua office and predominantly works with patent searching (patentability, invalidity, FTO, and landscape) in life sciences and biotechnology field.
